Clifford Edwin Anthony, age 83 of Brooklyn, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.  Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Monday, October 24, 2011, Madison Church of Christ, rural Brooklyn with Mr. Dennis Smith officiating. Burial will be in Haven Cemetery.   Visitation: 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to the Madison Church of Christ.

Clifford was born on June 28, 1928 near Haven, Iowa, the son of Emory and Mary Reed Anthony.  He attended the Haven country school through the 8th grade, then farmed alongside his parents.  He married Cornelia Joyce Van Norden on October 25, 1950 in Toledo, Iowa.  To this union five children were born.  Cliff drove the school bus for BGM from 1967 to 1974.  He farmed until 1983 and then worked for Manatts in Brooklyn from 1984 to 1997.

Cliff enjoyed fishing, watching Hawkeye basketball and the World Series, along with nature programs on television. Family was very important to him.  He enjoyed spending time with his wife and children and visiting with neighbors and friends. He was a member of Madison Church of Christ. Cliff will be greatly missed by all who loved him. 

He is survived by his wife Joyce; three sons, Michael (Cyndi) of Cedar Falls, Marvin (Iris) of Brooklyn and Gary (Mary Alice) of Nashua; two daughters, Sandra (John) Yeager of Elkmont, AL, and Pamela Burkle of Brooklyn; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Floyd of Toledo and Cliff’s twin brother Carl (Naomi) of rural Brooklyn.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Earl and a sister Grace Klenk.
