Linda A. Cox, age 92 of Oxford, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Windmill Manor, Coralville, Iowa. Funeral Mass: 9:00 A.M. Monday, December 29, 2014, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Oxford with Fr. Edmond Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Oxford. Visitation: 3 to 7 P.M. Sunday, December 28, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Oxford with a Rosary recited at 4 P.M. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family requests that those who attend the services to please wear something red signifying Linda’s favorite color.
Linda is survived by her six children, Janice McCalley (Mark) of Oxford, Ronald Cox (Colleen) of Oxford, Gerald Cox (Sandra) of Tiffin, Karen Meek (Duane) of Conroy, Nancy Kinney (Tim) of Oxford and Michael Cox (Jeanette) of Oxford; eleven grandchildren; and 18 great –grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Anna Rabe Ahlman, her husband Edward in 2008, two sisters, Adelia Tritt, and Lydia Holly, and two brothers, Fritz and Lawrence Ahlman.
Linda Ida Anna Ahlman was born September 26, 1922 in Pierce, Nebraska, the daughter of Emil and Anna Rabe Ahlman. She received her elementary and secondary education in the Nebraska schools. Linda married Edward Cox on July 3, 1944 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The couple eventually settled in the Oxford area where they farmed, and Linda operated a childcare service for several years. Linda was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oxford and the Altar and Rosary Guild.
