Kevin C. Dane, age 59 of Williamsburg, formerly of Sully, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at his home. Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 25, 2011, First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg, with Rev. Don Dovre officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg. Visitation: 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg.  A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.

Kevin is survived by his sons, Kristopher Charles of Waukee and Kraig Michael of Williamsburg; a brother Richard and wife Shirlene of Waverly and a sister Marcia Wehner and husband William of Williamsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Kevin Charles Dane was born March 19, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Charles Kenneth and Vena L. Myers Dane.  He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1970, Huron College, South Dakota in 1974 and received his Master’s degree from Northeast Missouri State. Kevin married Launi Wessendorf on December 20, 1980 in Newell, Iowa. The couple later divorced.  Kevin taught in the Willow Lake schools in South Dakota, the Gilmore City-Bradgate Schools and at Woodward-Granger Schools from 1982 -1983.  He had been a high school biology and PE teacher at Lynnville Sully since 1984. He also was a football and wrestling, and girls track coach there. He retired in 2010.  Kevin enjoyed sports and was an avid Hawkeye fan.
