William Paul “Bill” Dietze, age 40, of Luzerne, died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, June 12, 2014, First United Methodist Church, Marengo with Rev. Matt German officiating. Burial will be in Sumner Township Cemetery, Ladora, Iowa. Visitation: 4 to 7 P.M. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.
Bill is survived by his wife Connie; a son Zach Reynolds (Catie Geater) of Van Horne; two daughters, Kaitlyn Reynolds of Williamsburg, and Katie Blake of Lone Tree; seven grandchildren, Justess, Braedyn, and Alannah, Raynin, Cohen and Temperance, and Preston; his mother, Linda Dietze of Marengo; two sisters, Susan Kaster (Dale) of DeWitt and Lisa Dietze of Cedar Rapids; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Leslie "Red" Dietze, his grandparents, and his mother-in-law Joyce Reynolds.
William Paul Dietze was born January 23, 1974 in Marengo, Iowa, the son of Leslie P. “Red” Dietze and Linda Stephens Dietze. He graduated from Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids in 1993, and attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, taking courses for small engine repair. He was employed as a die setter with Montezuma Manufacturing. Bill was united in marriage to Connie Reynolds on May 31, 2003 at his parents’ home in rural Marengo. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and boating on the river. He also enjoyed working on small motors. He loved his family and especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.
