Dale Robert Doty, age 63 of Brooklyn, Iowa, died Friday, January 30, 2015 at Brooklyn Community Estate, Brooklyn. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn. Private Family Memorial Services will be held at another time. A memorial fund has been established.
Dale is survived by two sons, Stephen (Sandi) of Shellsburg and Kevin (Jesica Miller-Julin) of Grinnell; and seven grandchildren, Alison, Colton, Shane, Maria, and Cora Doty of Shellsburg, and Teylor and Emma Doty of Grinnell. Also surviving are his siblings, Ross Doty of Brooklyn, Vivian King of Grinnell, Gladys Palmer of Cedar Rapids, Marvin (Mary) Doty of Grinnell, Joan Foster of Cedar Rapids, Lucille (Richard) King of Warr Acres, OK, and Kay Dieterich of Brooklyn, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Abel and Daryl Doty.
Dale Robert Doty was born August 22, 1951 in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of Glenn Ross Doty and Pearl Lucille Jewell Doty. He received his education in the BGM schools. Dale worked at several jobs and in several places, including Miracle Playground Equipment, during his lifetime. He was a wonderful grandfather and spent much of his time with the grandchildren, and being involved in their lives. He liked John Wayne, fishing, mowing, playing board games and woodworking. He will be missed by his family and friends.
