Robert K. “Kenny” Griffiths of Brooklyn, Iowa (Holiday Lake) passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Taylor House, Des Moines, Iowa with his loving wife Hazel by his side.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 1 to 4 P.M. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Holiday Lake Community Center, 6A Lakeshore Drive, rural Brooklyn, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to The Kent Church, rural Brooklyn or PALS (Poweshiek Animal League Shelter) in Grinnell, Iowa. Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn is assisting the family with arrangements.
Kenny was born January 23, 1941 in Chariton, IA to Albert and Cleo Vickory Griffiths and grew up in Des Moines Iowa. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 2001. His hobbies were playing his guitar, fishing, bird hunting, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and his friends. He especially cherished the times he got to spend with his great nieces and nephews.
Kenny is survived by his wife Hazel Doddema Griffiths, sisters Doris Norton, Carolyn Price, brother Tom (Renae) Griffiths all of Des Moines, sister-in-law Jackie Griffiths of Weldon and numerous nieces and nephews. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bill, and brothers-in-law Hollie Price and Gene Norton.
