Kenneth V. Grimm, age 76, of Apache Junction, AZ, formerly of Millersburg, died Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Grinnell Medical Center. Memorial Services: 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 22, 2016, at the Deep River Community Center, with Rev. Shirley Van Dee officiating. Family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016, at the community center. Inurnment will be at the Community Cemetery, Deep River. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth is survived by a son Todd Grimm (Sara) of North English; a daughter Nicole Hartman (James) of Montezuma; nine grandchildren Preston Grimm, Trevor Grimm, Royce Griffiths, Hanna Grimm, Lance Griffiths, Brennen Grimm, Brooklyn Grimm, Sophia Grimm and Aidan Grimm; one great-grandchild Aleeah Eichorn; five siblings Phyllis Wright, Apache Junction, AZ, Leroy (Shirley) Grimm, Colorado, Laverne Grimm, Arkansas, Larry (Louise) Grimm, Minnesota, and Marvin (Jeanne) Grimm, Amana; special friends Larry Goodman, Mick and Kevin Sauter, Ron Broman and Kenny McGuire. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Karen of 37 years in 2011, his parent-in-laws Eleanor and Harold Kelting, three brothers-in-law Buck and Garth Kelting and Dean Wright, and two sisters-in-law Gerry Grimm and Norma Kelting.
Kenneth was born August 15, 1939, in Millersburg, the son of Virgil and Ethel Churchhill Grimm. He graduated from Millersburg High School in 1957. He married Karen E. Kelting Grimm on June 7, 1973 in Las Vegas, NV. Kenneth was a veteran of the Iowa National Guard. He worked at the University of Iowa, JC Penny’s and retired from Phx Mesa Gateway in July 2006. He was the president of the Jaycees in Millersburg, enjoyed bowling, gardening, farming and playing cards. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeye, Arizona Diamond Backs and Phoenix Suns fan.
