Randolph A. “Randy” Kensler, age 88 of Marshalltown, formerly of Marengo, died Saturday, August 20, 2011 in Marshalltown. Funeral Services: 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 24, 2011, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Douglas Morton officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown. Visitation: 4 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.

Randy is survived by his daughter Carol Kensler of Marshalltown, four grandchildren, Tara Rathjen, Devin Rathjen, Laura Rathjen and Dylan Kensler; and six great-grandchildren, Autumn Rathjen, Derek Jacobson, Ian Jacobson, Keira Rathjen, Jaxson Rathjen and Carson Kensler. Also surviving are stepchildren and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Estelle on March 8, 2002, a brother Gaylen and a sister Rowena Kirchner.

Randolph Arthur Kensler was born July 21, 1923 in Marengo, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Rose Schmidthans Kensler.  He attended the Marengo schools and married Estelle Ballard Stursa on June 9, 1953 in Missouri. Randy was employed as a truck driver for Manatts for many years, retiring in 1990.

Randy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo and the Good Sams Camping Club.
