Jeffrey John Kloster was born March 26, 1981, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of John and Beth Klenske Kloster. He graduated from Iowa Valley High School with the class of 1999, graduating with a BA in mathematics from Central College, Pella in 2003, and graduating from Iowa State University in 2005, with a degree in mechanical engineering. He made his home in Overland Park, where he was employed with Black and Veach, an engineering consulting firm, working 6 years with the energy department, and recently as marketing manager-major projects. During his college career, he played trumpet in jazz and symphonic band. He was a member of the Central College Golf Team, and a member of the Iowa State Rowing Team.
Jeff was passionate about engineering, and he proudly served as a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He was also passionate about working with the local community to help the next generation of leaders. He spent much time with the Kansas Rowing Club participants and in prominent roles. He enjoyed an occasional game of golf, or an outing with his friends. He shouted "Go Cyclones" but tolerated "black and gold" from other family members.
