Madeline Lillie, age 96 of Marengo, died Friday, February 12, 2016 at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo. Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Diane Miller-Vorhies officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Monday, February 15, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.
Madeline is survived by her son, William and wife Linda of Marengo; her four grandchildren, Becky (Brian) Fry, Jason (Lisa) Lillie, Adam (Jamie) Lillie, all of Marengo, and Morgan (Andy) Rodgers of Riverside; twelve great-grandchildren, Kailea and Dillon Fry, Nicole Mangold, Tiffany Herman, David and Caleb Lillie, Christian and Elijah Lillie, Lexie Rodgers, Antone and Jasper Larimer and Emilia Rodgers; and three great-great grandchildren, Brooke Mangold, Carson Mahan and Madeline Lillie. Also surviving is her sister, Famie Schuldt of Chariton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jasper in 1987, two sisters, Ella Mae Moore in 2002, and Martha Septer in 1988, and a brother William “Bill” Fiser in 2007.
Madeline Fiser was born November 15, 1919 in Sumner Township, Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of Harry “Pat” Fiser and Grace Real Blaine Fiser. She received her education in the Iowa County schools and married Jasper Lillie on October 29, 1941. Madeline was a loving, wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, loved to read, and listen to music. The Lawrence Welk Show was a weekly favorite. She was known for her talents in the kitchen, especially her “special cookies”. She especially cherished the time she spent with her family and the many grandchildren.
