Brenda Lee McCammant, age 52, of Ladora, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 10, 2014, First United Methodist Church, Marengo with Rev. Matt German officiating. Inurnment will be in the Ladora Cemetery at a later date. Visitation: 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday, March 9, 2014, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.
Brenda is survived by her husband Michael; five children, Melissa of Marengo, Carrie of Ladora, Jodi of Coralville, and Laura and Seth of Ladora; and three grandchildren, Katrina, Keagen and Jayla Engelbart. Also surviving are two brothers, Rick Dietze (Katy) and Reggie Dietze (Linda) all of Victor; and three sisters, Judy Damerval (Jerri), Kathy Hartz (Maury), and Becky Schmuecker (Dean) all of Marengo; a sister-in-law, Linda Dietze of Marengo, and nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Leslie “Red” Dietze.
Brenda Lee Dietze was born January 16, 1962 in Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Gladys Lutz Dietze. She attended the HLV schools and married Michael McCammant on February 12, 1979 in Williamsburg, Iowa. Brenda worked as a waitress at Middle America Restaurant in Williamsburg for several years. She then was employed by Aramark at the cafeteria at Whirlpool for 7 years, and most recently as a counselor with Systems Unlimited in Williamsburg.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed many activities with her family and friends. She loved to go camping, and fishing. She enjoyed gardening and garage sales. She was a loyal Iowa Hawkeye fan, and she had a soft spot for horses, and “her” convertible. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her family and all who knew her.
