Norman C. McCaw, age 94, of Marengo, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Rose Haven Nursing Home. Funeral Services: 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 16, 2011, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo with Pastor Doug Morton officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 7 P.M. Friday, April 15, 2011, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

Norman is survived by three sons, N. James “Jim” of Blairstown, Dennis (Laura) of Tiffin and Don (Edie) of Dike; a daughter Jeanene Miller (Casey) of Hudson, WI; ten grandchildren, Chet McCaw (Brenda) of Marengo, Kory McCaw of Sierra Vista, AZ , Vince McCaw (Jen) of San Diego, CA, Ryan McCaw (Pat) of Bettendorf, Joel McCaw of Tiffin, Chadd McCaw (Tranquila) of Ames, Vance McCaw (Teppy) of Waterloo, WI, Nikki Leach (Jerry) of Hudson, WI , Staci Dietrich of Bacoli, Italy and Eric Miller (Dayna) of Barrington, NJ; fifteen great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Amber, Blake, Cameron, Andrew, Carly, Dayton, Lily, Sydney, Rowan and Lane McCaw, Addison and Grant Leach, and Tayler and Ethan Miller; and a great-great granddaughter Kenlyn McCaw.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Leona in 2010, two brothers, Gordon and Harold, and three sisters, Hazel Peterson, Lucille Shell, and Alvera Kennedy.

Norman Clifford McCaw was born July 9, 1916 in Dixon, NE, the son of Harry and Mabel Nelson McCaw. He married Leona Gant on June 30, 1939 in Marengo, Iowa.  The couple farmed in Iowa County for many years. Besides farming, Norman was employed with Leo Kelly Implement, and also was a self-employed trucker. He worked for Amana Refrigeration from 1959 until his retirement in 1980. When the couple moved to Marengo, Norman enjoyed gardening and spent many hours tending his vegetables and flowers. He also enjoyed traveling and dancing. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marengo.
