Gerald L. Mullnix, age 74 of Williamsburg, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City from complications of diabetes.  Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Monday, August 29, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg, with Rev. Richard A. Meyer officiating.  Burial will be in East York Cemetery, rural Williamsburg. Visitation: 3 to 7 P.M. Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the church.  A memorial fund has been established.  Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.

Gerald is survived by his wife Nancy; three sons, Kenneth (Patti) of Williamsburg and Michael (Joanne White) of Parnell, and David of Williamsburg; a daughter Katherine Hunzinger of Williamsburg; 14 grandchildren, Justin, Michelle, Shannon, Steven, Nicholas, Ryan, Jessica, Brent, Matthew, Emily, Hanna, Mickala, Amy, and Tyler; and 6 great-grandchildren, David, Elizabeth, Noah, Madilyn, Kayna, and Samantha. Also surviving is a brother Larry (Marge) of Williamsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gerald Leo Mullnix was born February 18, 1937 in Iowa County, Iowa, the son of Harold Lester and Lora Pundt Mullnix. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1956 and married Nancy Lee Akers on June 10, 1959 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg.  To this union 3 sons and a daughter were born. Gerald was a lifelong farmer and also worked numerous jobs in the Williamsburg and Oxford area, including J&S of Williamsburg and F.S. of Oxford. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

The family extends a special thankyou to the Class of 1956 of Williamsburg High School, the doctors and staff of Mercy Hospital and Mercy Hospice of Iowa City.
