Mary L. Prell, age 64 of Marengo, died Monday, August 1, 2011 at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo. Memorial Services: 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Katie Dawson officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.

She is survived by her daughter Christina Jorgensen and husband Mark of Belle Plaine; four grandchildren, Angel, Christopher, Hannah and Benjamin, all at home; and three brothers, Larry Prell ( Bonnie) of Cherokee, Gary Prell (Kay) of Mapleton, IA and John Prell of Lubbock, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Nancy Ann in infancy and three brothers, Fred, Ray and Paul.

Mary Louise Prell was born April 6, 1947 near Mapleton, Iowa, on the family farm, the daughter of Henry John and Anna Elizabeth Wimmer  Prell.  She received her education in the Mapleton schools and moved to Sioux City in her 20’s. In 2007, Mary and her family moved to Marengo. Due to failing health, she resided at Rose Haven Nursing Home since 2008.

Mary enjoyed crocheting and many craft projects. She loved her daughter and grandchildren and spending many hours with them.
