Elsie Robinson, age 90 of Williamsburg, died Monday, May 26, 2014 at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg. Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 31, 2014, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg with Rev. Carl Cloeter officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 P.M. Friday, May 30, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be contributed to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of the arrangements.
Elsie is survived by a daughter, Juanita Roland and husband Gene of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Tonja Roland-Ludwig (William) of Waterloo, Dan Roland (Jeralene) of Grinnell, Jenni Gault (Paul) of Kalamazoo, MI, Karri Brown (Jeff) of Kenosha, WI, and Nathanial Durr (Sierra) of Marengo; ten great-grandchildren, Jason Ludwig, Kaden Ludwig, Lucas Roland, Kennedy Roland, Briar Roland, Robert Durr, Rhia Durr, Raven Gault, Lincoln Durr, and Liam Durr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold in 2011, and a daughter Patricia Durr.
Elsie Caroline Pfisterer was born June 9, 1923 in Blairstown, Iowa, the daughter of William Adam Pfisterer and Marie Rosa Neumann Pfisterer. She graduated from Norway High School in 1941 and married Harold Earl Robinson on August 8, 1943 at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown. Besides being a homemaker, wife and mother, Elsie was employed with Bill Zuber’s Restaurant in Homestead, and the Super Value Deli in Williamsburg. She and her husband worked as custodians at St. Paul Lutheran Church for many years. Elsie also enjoyed working at the Farmer’s Market in Williamsburg. She spent her free time knitting and crocheting.
