Mary Lou Roemig, age 69, of Middle Amana, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at Colonial Manor of Amana. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 11, 2011, at the New Apostolic Church, 2930 Wilson Ave. S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa with Pastor Larry Dollmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the West Amana Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Memorials may be contributed to the Essence of Life Hospice or Colonial Manor of Amana.
She is survived by her husband Gilbert; a sister, Sandra Ludovissy and husband Curt of West Amana and a nephew Jason Ludovissy and wife Jewel. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary Lou Ehrmann was born August 17, 1941 in West Amana, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred Otto Ehrmann and Elsie Lina Mittelbach Ehrmann. She graduated from the Amana High School in 1959 and attended Paris Academy of Beauty Culture in Cedar Rapids, receiving her beautician license. She was employed over the years at the Amana Woolen Mill, and Amana Refrigeration. She also worked as a beautician. Mary Lou married Gilbert Roemig on May 30, 1981 at the New Apostolic Church in Cedar Rapids. The couple resided in Middle Amana. She enjoyed gardening in her free time, especially her flower garden. |
