James A. Rudin, age 66 of Conroy died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in a single-car accident near Homestead.  Funeral Services: 1:30 P.M. Sunday, January 3, 2010 Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy with Rev. Gary Sears officiating.  Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation: 3 to 7 P.M. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. Memorials may be contributed to the Lutheran Interparish School or Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy.

James is survived by his wife, Kathleen; four daughters, Shelly VanDenBosch (Paul) of Castle Rock, CO, Sheila Weldon (Jim) of  Williamsburg, Stephanie Rudin of Williamsburg and Shannon Johnson (Todd) of Des Moines; four grandchildren, Zachary VanDenBosch, Amaleah Weldon, Levi Weldon and Brock Johnson; and two sisters, Marlene Folkmann (Verne) of Coralville and Kathy Dixon (Don) of Iowa City.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

James Allen Rudin was born January 16, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Norma Zuber Rudin.  He attended the St. Paul Lutheran School, Conroy Hilton High School and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1961. He received a certification for Auto Body Repair in Omaha, NE. James married Kathleen Doehrmann on June 20, 1964 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamsburg.  He was employed at the Farmer’s Co-op in Conroy for 18 years. He worked at Kinze Manufacturing for 23 years retiring in 2004 as a shipping manager.  James was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy and previously served on the School Board of the Lutheran Interparish School. He loved working in his work shop, gardening, camping, and teaching his grandchildren how to fish.  He also enjoyed doing maintenance and mowing at the farm. Jim took great pride in his work and loved his family.  He was a loyal Hawkeye and Broncos Fan.
