| Dorothy Marie Baumgartner, age 88, of Amana, died Thursday February 19, 2009 at Colonial Manor of Amana, following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 23, 2009 at Middle Amana Community Church, Middle Amana, Iowa with Elder Emilie Hoppe officiating. Burial will be in the High Amana Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday at the Middle Amana Community Church. Memorials may be contributed to the Amana Church Society. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her sister Betty Brinda and husband William of Flintville, TN, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William on January 24, 1993, a sister Helen Hatling and a brother Herman Brandstetter.
Dorothy Marie Brandstetter was born February 8, 1921 in Conroy, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Helen Puchert Brandstetter. She attended schools in Iowa and Minnesota. She was employed as a telephone operator in Minnesota and Iowa. Dorothy married William Baumgartner on June 11 1949 at the Little Bit of Heaven Chapel in Davenport, Iowa. The couple made their home in High and Middle Amana. She worked as a housekeeper at Colonial Manor for several years. Dorothy was a member of the Amana Church Society. |
