H. Michael “Mike” Beasley, age 65, died Saturday morning, April 25, 2009 at his home following an extended illness. Private Family Graveside Services will be held at a later date at East York Cemetery, rural Williamsburg. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 P.M. Monday, April 27, 2009 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Memorials may be contributed to the Marengo Hospital Dialysis Unit or the American Diabetes Foundation.

Mike is survived by his wife Gladys; a son Jeff and wife Cheryl of Williamsburg; three grandchildren, Mariah, Austin and Brooke Beasley; and a sister Patricia Riezman of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mary Lu.

H. Michael Beasley was born September 25, 1943 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Herbert N. Beasley and Mary Porter Beasley. He married Gladys Jean Evans on March 4, 1962 in Iowa City. Mike was a self employed businessman in Marengo. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. He also was an avid Hawkeye fan. In recent years, Mike enjoyed traveling to the casino in Tama.
