| Robert L. “Bob” Brandon, Sr., age 75, died suddenly, Sunday afternoon, June 5, 2005 at his home in East Amana. Funeral Services: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 8, 2005, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Morris Hurd officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Robert Jr. and wife Mary Ellen of North English, and Jeff of Marengo, a daughter, Debbie Peters and husband Steve of Belle Plaine, four grandchildren, Doug, David, Michelle and Lisa; two brothers, Dean and Harold and three sisters, Helen Wilburn, Mary Wages, and Laura Still and husband Fred, all of Missouri. In addition he is survived by a brother-in-law, Dale White and wife Donna of Springville, Uncle John and Aunt Rosella, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
Robert Lewis Brandon was born May 2, 1930 in Sydney, Nebraska, the son of Earnest and Effie Lund Brandon. He attended school in the Eddyville, Iowa schools. He served in the Marine Corp, stationed in Hawaii as a military police during the Korean War. He married Elizabeth White on June 1, 1957 in Lancaster, MO. Robert was employed with the John Morrell Company in Ottumwa for 25 years. He then moved to the Amana area where he was employed by the Amana Society Farms from 1974 until 1992 when he retired.
Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, mushroom hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Ottumwa American Legion Post #3. |
