Viola “Sandy” Charipar, age 79, died Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Colonial Manor Care Center, Middle Amana, following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 7, 2006, Middle Amana Community Church, Middle Amana, with Elder Harold Pitz officiating. Burial will be in the Amana Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Monday, March 6, 2006 at the Middle Amana Community Church. Memorials may be contributed to the Amana Church Society. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by a brother, Ramon Goerler of Amana, her aunt, Helen Heinze of Middle Amana and close friends, Rose Leonhardt of Middle Amana, and Irene Konecny of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Viola Susan Goerler was born August 2, 1926 in Amana, Iowa, the daughter of Ferdinand and Esther Schaefer Goerler. She graduated from Amana High School in 1945 and the AIC Business School in Davenport. Viola “ Sandy” was a bookkeeper and teller at Morris Plan in Cedar Rapids for many years. She also worked at the Colony Candle Works in Amana until retiring in 2000. She was a member of the Amana Church Society.
