Jeannette E. Collingwood, age 88 of Marengo, died Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Colonial Manor of Amana following a brief illness. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo with Rev. Douglas Morton officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Monday, April 14, 2008 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

She is survived by a son Dennis Kimm (Anita) of Marengo; two daughters, Janet Gerard (Robert) of Marengo and Debra Scott of Reno, NV; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; three stepsons, Dale Collingwood (Marlene) of Marengo, Les Collingwood (Rosie) of Marengo and Lyle Collingwood (Sherry) of Fairfax; a step daughter-in-law, Marcie Miller of San Diego, CA; 9 step-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Alene Murray, a brother, Edwin Barber and three husbands, George Kimm, Jr., Dale Kimm and Gerald Collingwood, a stepson, Larry Collingwood and a step-grandson, Trevor Collingwood.

Jeannette Emmaline Barber was born August 2, 1919 in Belle Plaine, IA, the daughter of Samuel and Flossie Barber. She attended Marengo High School. Jeannette was a homemaker and assisted her husbands in their farming operations.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo and she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and fishing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
