Wayne D. Conrad, age 80 of Marengo, died Friday, October 31, 2008 at his home following a brief illness. Funeral Services: 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 3, 2008 Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

Wayne is survived by his wife Mary Ann and a son Gary Lee Conrad of Marengo. His parents preceded him in death.

Wayne Dean Conrad was born November 17, 1927 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Charles and Grace Mitchell Conrad. He attended the Iowa County schools and Marengo High School. Wayne served in the U.S. Army for 2 years as a medic stationed in North Carolina. He married Mary Ann Wauters on May 10, 1950 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Victor. Wayne farmed near Victor and also worked at Huedepohl Implement in Marengo. He was interested in antique engines and tractor shows. He enjoyed the WMT Tractor Rides and Tractor Cruise Rides. He also enjoyed listening to country and blue grass music.
