| Arleen M. Danskin, age 84, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Rose Haven Nursing Home, from complications of Alzheimers disease. Funeral Services: 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 24, 2006, First United Methodist Church, Marengo with Rev. Morris Hurd officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until service time on Monday, April 24, 2006 at the church. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene; two sons, David Danskin of Coralville and John Danskin and wife Julie of Woodbury, MN; two grandchildren, Erik and Emma Danskin; a brother, Fred Madison and wife Regina of Eagle Grove; and 5 sisters, Margaret Risdon of Victor, Berniece Mohr and husband Ronald of Marengo, Marian Freeman of Plattsburg, MO, Joann Gillespie of Chatfield, MN, and Donnarae Cranston of Grundy Center. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Madison.
Arleen Marie Madison was born January 27, 1922 in Wright County, near Goldfield, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Lucy Farmer Madison. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1939 and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. Arleen taught school prior to her marriage to Eugene Danskin on December 26, 1941 in Kirksville, MO. The couple farmed for many years. In 1999, they moved to Marengo. Arleen was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marengo, the United Methodist Women, the Farm Bureau and bridge club. She also was a Cancer Survivor. |
