| George
R. Dillin, age 81 of Iowa Falls, formerly of Marengo, died
Thursday, January 6, 2005 at Mercy-North Iowa Medical Center,
Mason City, Iowa following an extended illness. Funeral
Services: 11:00 A.M. Monday, January10, 2005 at Kloster
Funeral Home, Marengo with Delbert Rankin officiating. Burial
will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from 3
to 7 P.M. Sunday, January 9, 2005 at the funeral home. Memorials
may be contributed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
He
is survived by a son Winston Hahn and wife LaVonne of Atoka,
TN; two daughters, Linda York and husband Lester of Iowa
Falls and Johnette Timm and husband Gary of Guernsey; six
grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother,
John Bruce Dillin of Marengo and two sisters, Odena Hladky
of Guernsey and Cheribel C. Schmidt of Victor. He was preceded
in death by his parents, his wife, Kathleen, and a brother,
Charles “Bob” Dillin in 1998.
George
Raymond Dillin was born May 8, 1923 in Marengo, Iowa the
son of Cecil and Dolly Stucker Dillin. He graduated from
Marengo High School in 1941. He married Kathleen B. McKay
on June 17, 1956 in Marengo. She died June 20, 1999. George
was employed as a rural mail carrier, and he worked at Collins
Radio during World War II. He was a maintenance engineer
at Iowa Valley schools and then at the Marengo Memorial
Hospital. He has made his home with his daughter in Iowa
Falls for the last 3 ½ years. George was an avid
woodworker.
