Rosemary Ebel, age 76, of Williamsbuarg, died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at her home following an extended illness. Memorial Services: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 28, 2007, St. Mary’s Hall, Williamsburg, with Father Joseph Roost officiating. Inurnment will be at later date. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at St. Mary’s Hall in Williamsburg. Memorials may be contributed to Iowa City Hospice in her name. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, Lavern; a son Wayne R. Ebel and companion Debbie Brecht of Williamsburg; a daughter, Karen L. Goodell of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Candice Goodell and fiancé Michael Kennedy of Williamsburg, and Morgan Ebel of Kalona; and a step-granddaughter, Brittany Armstrong of Cedar Rapids. In addition she is survived by a brother Roger Herring and wife Sharon of Williamsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Teresa Schwarting and a brother in infancy.

Rosemary Herring was born December 26, 1930 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Alexander William Herring and Minnie Louise Conklin Herring. She received her education in the West Liberty schools and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1949. Rosemary was united in marriage to Lavern Ebel on September 7, 1954 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williamsburg. The couple farmed for many years. Besides being a homemaker, Rosemary was employed by Service Master, Colony Haus Motor Inn, and McDonalds. She enjoyed gardening, baking and canning, needlework, woodworking and playing cards.
