Evelyn Berhow was born March 29, 1914 in Worth County, Iowa,
the daughter of Walter and Mable Berhow. She attended the
Worth County schools and married Hector L. Fatland on October
26, 1938.
Ruby was a fun-loving and very caring person. She never
knew a stranger. She was very active in her church, which
she found very comforting. She was active in the community
and along with her friend, Ethel, kept Marengo weed-free.
She was instrumental in establishing the Iowa Valley School
lunch program. She worked in several restaurants in Marengo
and was best remembered as the “pie lady”. She loved life
and her family and was always there for them.
Now it is time to give this beautiful soul to our Lord for
safe-keeping. She will be greatly missed. Thank you for
being our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister
and friend. All our hearts go with you. ‘Till we meet again
…..Your loving family
