| Vivian G. Shaull Holst, age 96 of Marengo, died Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Rose Haven Nursing Home following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 3, 2008, First United Methodist Church, Marengo with Rev. Katie Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.
She is survived by her son Ronald Shaull and wife Rosalie of Marengo, three daughters, Pat Hagen and husband Kenneth of Homestead, Charlotte Iberg and husband Ronald of Austin, TX and Jeroldine Soar of Council Bluffs, Iowa; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two brothers, Roderick and Charles Moore, four sisters, Marguerite Beasmore, Lavona Pasler, Lucille Blomme and Frances Tehan, a son-in-law, Harold Soar and a grandson Brett Hagen.
Vivian Grace Moore was born March 17, 1912 in Parnell, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Maude Claypool Moore. She received her education in the North English schools and married Merritt Shaull on July 1, 1928 in Marengo. He died November 23, 1957. Vivian married Harry Holst on November 14, 1958 in Marengo. He died April 1, 1988. Vivian was employed at Amana Refrigeration for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marengo, and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, needlework and making afghans. |
