H. Kelting, age 60, died Saturday, February 26, 2005 at
Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following an extended illness.
Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, March 1, 2005, St.
Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg with Rev. Carl Cloeter
officiating. Burial will be in Pilot Grove Cemetery, Williamsburg.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday, February 28, 2005
at St. Paul Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. A memorial
fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo
is in charge of arrangements.
He
is survived by his wife Sandra; a son Greg and fiancée
Dena Jackman of Williamsburg; two daughters, Katie Bauer
and husband Scott of West Des Moines, and Natasha Kelting
and fiance Tony Hauschilt of Marengo; a grandson, Brody
Bauer; a brother, Darlo Kelting and wife Dianna of Grinnell;
and two sisters, Lanette Crow and husband Lyle of Oxford
and Karen Grimm and husband Kenneth of Apache Junction,
AZ. In addition he is survived by a stepson, Mitchell Hughes
of Williamsburg, and a step-daughter, Dayna LaTorre and
husband Dan of Lander, WY and his special friend and companion,
Sadie, his dog. He was preceded in death by his parents,
a brother Arlen and his first wife, Norma.
Garth
Harold Kelting was born January 13, 1945 in Linn County,
Iowa, the son of Harold and Eleanor Newkirk Kelting. He
graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1963 and attended
Omaha Technical College, Omaha, Nebraska. He served in the
Iowa National Guard. He married Norma Kinsinger in 1966
in her family home in rural Parnell. The couple resided
in Williamsburg and enjoyed 30 years of marriage. Norma
died in 1996. He married Sandra Cranston Hughes on November
26, 1999. Garth was a longtime manager of the Phillips 66
Truck Stop. He was a member of the Williamsburg Jaycees
and Sport Hill Country Club. He enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes,
carpentry, fishing, gardening, cooking and spending time
with his family and friends.
