Mary E. Fields Kenney, age 95, died Saturday, March 10, 2007 at her daughter’s home in rural Marengo following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, March 15, 2007 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo with Rev. Douglas Morton officiating. Burial will be in Koszta Cemetery, rural Marengo. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Wednesday, March 14, 2006 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.

She is survived by her daughter Claudia Hickey and husband Michael of Marengo; four grandchildren, Dawn Gifford and husband Ted of Robins, IA, Mary Wilson and husband Phillip of Aliso Viejo, CA, Erin Miller and husband Kevin of Des Moines and Joseph Hickey of Portsmith, NH; four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, and Lauren Gifford, and Tyler Wilson; and a step great-grandson, Ross Wilson. In addition, she is survived by a special friend, Darlene Hacker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James on January 23, 1966, four brothers, Roy, Carl, George, and John Fields, and six sisters, Edith Elliott, Ethel Cooper, Alene Graham, Frances Urfer, Ruth Randolph and Alice Heck.

Mary Elizabeth Fields was born November 16, 1911 in Koszta, Iowa, the daughter of John E. Fields and Pearl (Frazee) Fields. She received her education in the Kosta area schools and graduated from Marengo High School in 1930. She married James Reginald Kenney on March 12, 1942 in Lancaster, MO. She was a farm wife and homemaker. Mary was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marengo.
