| Harold B. Martin, age 90, formerly of Williamsburg and Iowa City, died Friday, February 16, 2007 at Colonial Manor of Amana from an age related illness. Graveside Services: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2007, Oak Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg with Bishop Greg Stewart officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at St. Mary’s Community Center, Williamsburg. Memorials may be directed to the family or the Williamsburg Public Library Building Fund. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Martin Martens and husband Richard of Conroy, and Susan Durian Gaudio and husband David of LaHabara, CA; two grandchildren, Brad Martens of West Branch and Matt Gaudio and wife Jamie of Fullerton, CA; four great-grandchildren all of West Branch; a sister, Zelda Manor of Iowa City and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gladys on July 27, 1999, a brother Charles, and two sisters, Marjorie Poulson and Clara Faas.
Harold Byron Martin was born September 12, 1916 in Iowa County, Iowa, the son of Charles V. and Edith F. Brewer Martin. He received his education in the Iowa County Schools and served in the U.S. Army in the Azores during World War II. He married Gladys Perkins on December 5, 1953 in Williamsburg. Mr. Martin worked for over 35 years in the banking business with Farmers Trust and Savings Bank, Williamsburg. |
