Helen E. Misel, age 90 of Iowa City, formerly of Marengo, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at the Iowa City Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, following a short illness. Funeral Services: 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 29, 2006 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Morris Hurd officiating. Burial will be in the Koszta Cemetery, rural Marengo. Friends may call after 11:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at the funeral home.

Survivors include numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Helen Ethel Misel was born October 18, 1915 near Blairstown, Iowa the daughter of Arthur A. and Phoebe Dye Misel. She graduated from Marengo High School. She was a teacher for several years in the rural schools near Marengo. In 1941, Helen moved to Iowa City. She was employed as a secretary in Iowa City and later in Phoenix, AZ. Over the years, Helen was a member of many organizations, among them, Tau Gamma Sorority, Rebekahs, and Pythian Sisters.
