Marjorie K. Misel age 88 of Amana, formerly of Marengo, died Friday, January 23, 2009 at Brooklyn Community Estates, Brooklyn, Iowa following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 28, 2009, First Presbyterian Church, Marengo, Iowa with Rev. Gerald Rife officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

She is survived by five daughters, Myrna Leinart of Fort Collins, CO, Barbara Kellenberger (Jerry) of South Amana, Iowa, Frances Misel (Jesse Gomez) of Shertz, TX, Mary Kreis (Bill) of Marengo, and Virginia Possehl (Gene) of South Amana; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jasper in 1995, two brothers, Jack and Elmer Simmons, a grandson, Mark Leinart, a great-grandson, Jacob Hendricks and a son-in-law, Bob Leinart.

Marjorie Kathleen Simmons was born February 13, 1920 in Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of Fredrick and Carrie Jacobs Simmons. She received her education in the Iowa County schools and married Jasper Misel, Jr. on April 11, 1940 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a homemaker and also worked for Walt’s Dry Cleaners in Marengo. Marjorie was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marengo for over 50 years.
