| Kathryn
Williams Mumby, age 84 of Marengo, died Sunday afternoon,
February 20, 2005 at the Rose Haven Nursing Home following
an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday,
February 23, 2005, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo with
Pastor Douglas Morton officiating. Burial will be in the
Ladora Cemetery, rural Ladora. Friends may call from 4 to
8 P.M. Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at Kloster Funeral Home,
Marengo. Memorials may be contributed to the St. John’s
Lutheran Church Preschool or Sunday School.
Kathryn
Williams was born July 3, 1920 in Williamsburg, Iowa, the
daughter of Gwilym and Mary Ada Roberts Williams. She received
her education in the Williamsburg schools. She married Vernon
LeRoy Mumby on April 19, 1947 at the Presbyterian Parsonage
in Marengo. The couple farmed in the Williamsburg and Ladora
areas until retirement in 1976. In June of 1985 they moved
to Marengo. Vernon died April 30, 1986. Kathryn has made
her home at Rose Haven Nursing Home since 2002 due to failing
health.
Kathryn
is survived by a daughter, Sharon Denzler (Lauren) of Belle
Plaine; a son, Allen (Mary Ann) of Marengo, a daughter-in-law,
Elaine Wille of Cedar Rapids, 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren,
and 7 great-great grandchildren. In addition she is survived
by 2 sisters, Jeanette Faas of Hiawatha and Lorna Ann Kuhnle
(Carl) of Council Bluffs; 2 brothers, David Williams (Gladys)
of Hiawatha and Russell Williams (Maxine) of Monticello,
and a sister-in-law, Lois Williams of Grants Pass, Oregon.
Kathryn
was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vernon,
a son, Larry Wille in 2004, 2 brothers, Elliott and Stanley
Williams, a sister, Mary Olwen Linnell, a sister-in-law,
Bobbi Williams and 2 brothers-in-law, Jim Faas and M.R.
Linnell.
