Nancy Jo Myers, age 61 of Blairstown, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services: 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 7, 2009, First United Methodist Church, Marengo with Roseann Hayek officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, rural Cedar Rapids, at a later date. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Friday, February 6, 2009 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband Loren; her devoted sons, Michael and wife Becky, and Scott and wife Annette, and her “five beautiful grandchildren”, Lauren, Nicole, Paige, Luke and Jill. She is also survived by four sisters Donna Meier and husband Steve, Joyce Schumacher and husband Alan, Karen Azevedo, and Mary Holsclaw and husband Ray; her brother Dennis Dimmer; a sister-in-law, Janna Dimmer; best friend Kandy Childs and husband Denny, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. She also leaves behind her precious Cocker Spaniel, Dolly. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Elaine Prieto and Linda Bair and a brother Robert Dimmer.

Nancy Jo Dimmer was born July 22, 1947 at Jackson County Hospital in Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Eldon and Erma Harding Dimmer. The family lived in Baldwin until moving to Marengo in 1955. She received her education in the Iowa Valley Schools. Nancy married Loren Myers on September 19, 1964 at the First Presbyterian Church in Marengo. She was employed at Coon Creek Telephone Company in Blairstown for the past 18 years. Prior to that she worked at the Amana Woolen Mills Sales Room in Middle Amana, and the Diet Centers in Cedar Rapids and Marengo. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her trips to Guttenberg, Iowa. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A special thank you to St. Luke’s Hospice, Dr. Jolynn Glanzer and special friend Roseann Hayek, all who were so vital in making her final days comfortable and for all the care and support. Your time, phone calls and visits are something Nancy’s family are so grateful for and will never forget.
