Olga M. Nagel, age 80 of Amana, died Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at the Marengo Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 4, 2005 at the Middle Amana Church with Elder Betsy Momany officiating. Burial will be in the High Amana Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Thursday, November 3, 2005 at the Middle Amana Community Church. Memorials may be contributed to the Marengo Hospital Extended Care or the Amana Church Society. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband George; a son Larry, and wife Kathleen of High Amana; two daughters, Sharon Rude and husband Bob of Coralville and Mary Lou Reihmann and husband Bob of Denver, CO; five grandchildren, John Nagel, Karl and Anna Reihmann and Katy and Nicholas Rude; and a sister Lottie Janesovsky of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Louise Vomacka, Frannie Andrlik, and Mimi Sloup.

Olga Mary Sloup was born August 17, 1925 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Shimek Sloup. She received her education in the Cedar Rapids schools, graduating from Wilson High School in 1944. Following graduation, she was employed at the People’s Bank in Cedar Rapids. Olga married George Nagel on June 12, 1955 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Besides being a homemaker, Olga worked at Merchants Bank, the Amana Woolen Mills and later at the Barn Restaurant. She loved her husband and family and her cats. She enjoyed gardening and watching the birds and nature. She produced fine needlework, evidence of her Czech heritage. She always made the best with what they had. She was a member of the Amana Church, and the ZCBJ Lodge #13 in Cedar Rapids.
