Wallace W. “Wally” Pasbrig, age 71 of South Amana, died Friday, March 4, 2011, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, IA, following a brief illness.  Funeral Services: 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, Trinity Lutheran Church, Walford, IA with Rev. David Mosher officiating. Visitation: 4 to 7 P.M. Monday, March 7, 2011 at the church. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife Paula; three children, David and special friend Elaine Sackett of Cedar Rapids, Jennifer Blankinship (Wes) of Oxford and Christopher (Jill) of Homestead; four grandchildren, Andrew and Samuel Graesser, and Lauren and Elizabeth Pasbrig. Also surviving are a brother David Pasbrig (Charlene) and a sister Cindy Fauerbach (Steve) all of Mayville, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Wallace William Pasbrig was born December 15, 1939 in Madison, WI, the son of Wallace Henry and Myra Isabel Nelson Pasbrig.  He graduated from Mayville High School in 1958 and attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and then Brown School of Broadcasting in Minneapolis. Wally served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He married Paula Louise Voehl on October 29, 1966 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Clinton, IA. He was employed with KCRG-Radio for many years, retiring in 2002. Wallace was active in several civic organizations in Wisconsin and Iowa.  He was an avid supporter of the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers.
