Delbert Lee Peska, age 70 of Marengo,
died Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Marengo Memorial
Hospital, following an extended illness. Mass of Christian
Burial: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 9, 2009, St.
Patrick's Catholic Church, Marengo with Fr. Joseph Roost
officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, September 8,
2009, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A Rosary will
be recited at 4:30 P.M. and there will be a Scripture
Service at 7:30 P.M. A memorial fund has been established.
Delbert
is survived by his wife Cynthia; two sons, Mike and
wife Robin, and Mark and wife Dawn, all of Marengo;
four grandchildren, April Peska Balk, Brandon Peska,
Senior Airman Marcus Peska and Chad Peska (Brooke);
and a great-grandson, Layne Peska. Also surviving are
two brothers, Dale (Evelyn) of Marengo and Duane (Carol)
of Ladora. He was preceded in death by his parents,
a brother David and three grandchildren, Christopher,
Jillian and Justine Peska.
Delbert
Lee Peska was born November 5, 1938 in Chelsea, Iowa,
the son of Albert and Hazel See Peska. He received his
education in the Hartwick schools and married Cynthia
A. Albert on November 8, 1958 at St. Patrick’s
Catholic Church in Marengo. Delbert was employed as
a truck driver with Wilder Grain of Hartwick for several
years. He subsequently was employed as a machine metal
specialist with Amana Refrigeration for 34 years, retiring
in 2001. He was a member of the Local Machinists Union
#1526. |
