Mary E. Roberts, age 93 of Marengo, died Saturday morning, June 4, 2005 at the Rose Haven Nursing Home, following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 7, 2005, First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg with Rev. George Bishop officiating. Burial will be in the Community Cemetery, rural Deep River. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday, June 6, 2005 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Memorials may be contributed to the American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation.

She is survived by a son, Donald Roberts and wife Karen of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren, Scott Roberts, Barry Roberts, Christopher Roberts, Joel Roberts, Jennie Theisen, Tim Roberts, Kevin Roberts, and Kay Roberts; and ten great-grandchildren, Cody Roberts, Trevor Roberts, Sadie Roberts, Taylor Roberts, Jacob Barnes, Donny Roberts, Austin Roberts, Jacob Linn, Hudson Roberts and Hunter Roberts and a daughter-in-law, Diana Roberts of Conroy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond, a son Kenneth, a daughter-in-law, Donna Roberts, three brothers, Marvin Taylor, William Taylor and Roy Taylor, and two sisters, Edith Cram and Mildred Roberts..

Mary Elizabeth Taylor was born October 14, 1911 in Millersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Ellsworth and Mary Schaefner Taylor. She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1929 and married Raymond Humphrey Roberts on May 6, 1936 in Macon, MO. The couple farmed south of Marengo for many years. He died June 18, 1977. Mary moved into Marengo in February 1978. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg.
