Blanche A. Robertson, age 93 of Malcom, died Thursday, October 30, 2008 at her home following an extended illness. Private Family Services will be held Monday, November 3, 2008. Friends may call from 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Kloster-Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn. Memorials may be directed to the family.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Sherratt of Winnebago, MN, Barbara Brown and husband Murray of Malcom and, James Robertson of Malcom; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn Elder of Burlington and a brother James Wiese of West Liberty. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry Robertson in 1972, a son Thomas Robertson, a great-grandson Mason Brown, a brother Paul Wiese and two sisters Marge Gruhn and Marie Walker.

Blanche Agnes Wiese was born April 4, 1915 in Portsmouth, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Ollie B. Neubauer Wiese. The family moved several times during her childhood. She was united in marriage with Harry Robertson on February 20, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa. The couple resided in Malcom and four children were born to this union. Blanche was a homemaker who tended to the needs of her children and enjoyed her grandchildren. She found strength in her family and was known to have a humorous disposition. Her son James tended and cared for her for over 20 years.
