Daisy L. Slaymaker, age 91, died Thursday evening, January 25, 2007 at the Marengo Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Private Graveside Services will be held Monday, January 29, 2007. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol Peska and husband Dwaine of Ladora and Sharal O’Hara and husband Rick of Cedar Rapids; 5 grandchildren, Duane Peska of Ladora, Nicole O’Hara (Kenny Oliver) of Cedar Rapids, Neil Peska of Ladora, Justin O’Hara (Jenny) of Cedar Rapids, and Melissa Wright (Brett) of Malcom; and 5 great-grandchildren, Tucker and Tanner Wright, Rhain, Braxton and Kaylee Oliver. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence, and a sister, Lillian McAninch.

Daisy Lorraine Albert was born May 23, 1915 in Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar and Pauline Staheli Albert. She graduated from the Ladora High School and married Lawrence G. Slaymaker on August 28, 1944 in Dixon, Illinois. Daisy was an avid Hawkeye fan. She enjoyed reading, gardening and dining out. She looked forward to reading the newspaper and discussing current events. She was a member of the Ladora Methodist Church.
