Judith Ann Steenhoek, age 54 of Marengo, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at her home following an accident in the stable. Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 23, 2009, St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, Victor, with Fr. Brian Shepley officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. Saturday until service time at the church. Memorials may be contributed to Progress Industries, Newton, Iowa, a program that works with physically and mentally challenged adults. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her mother, Joan Kleinhenz of Brookfield, WI, a brother Art Kleinhenz (Diane) of Wisconsin: sisters, Lynn Bartling (Pete) of Manitowish Waters, WI and Carol Luterbach (Alan) of Whales, WI and Katherine Dyer also of Wisconsin; and nine nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and her husband Fred Steenhoek in 1994.

Judith Ann Kleinhenz was born January 26, 1955 in Iron Mountain, Wisconsin, the daughter of Lou and Joan Motowski Kleinhenz. Judith graduated from Central High School, Brookfield, WI and received degrees form Iowa State University, Ames, IA and also Drake University, Des Moines, IA. She married Fred Steenhoek on July 17, 1976 at Vianney, WI. He died in a farm accident on April 30, 1994. The couple had no children. Judith was an avid horsewoman and spent many enjoyable hours tending to her horses. She was a member of the Iowa and the American Saddlebred Association. She also enjoyed watching college basketball and football. Judith "loved" ketsup on her food.
