| Judy Mae Tarvin, 58 of Bloomfield, formerly of South Amana, died Thursday morning, September 8, 2005 at the home of her brother in South Amana. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, following a brief struggle with cancer. Funeral Services: 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 12, 2005, Meadow Hill Christian Fellowship, Homestead, with Rev Dianne Buswell officiating. Burial will be in the South Amana Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Sunday, September 11, 2005 at the church. Memorials may be contributed to Meadow Hills Christian Fellowship or the Iowa County Hospice of Compassion. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by a son, Todd Tarvin of Blaine, MN, a daughter, Tami Tarvin of South Amana, 2 granddaughters, Alisha and Amanda Lewis of Brooklyn, and a special friend, Charles Vande Noord of Bloomfield. Also surviving are her father and stepmother, Harry and Rosa Ackerman of South Amana; a brother, Les Ackerman and wife Linda of South Amana; two sisters, Peg Roemig and husband Les of Middle Amana, and Wendy Ziegler and husband Ekhard of Iowa City; 4 nieces and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by hr mother, Louisa Ackerman.
Judy Mae Ackerman was born December 14, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter of Harry and Louisa Meyer Ackerman. She lived the majority of her life in South Amana and attended the Amana schools. She enjoyed motorcycling, RAGBRAI, helping out others, and spending time with her family. |
