Daniel Lee VanErsvelde, age 50, of Deep River, died at his home on Saturday, July 18, 2009 following an extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 21, 2009, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Brooklyn, Iowa with Fr. Brian Shepley officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn, Iowa. Friends may call from 5 to 7 P.M. Monday, July 20, 2009 at Kloster Funeral home, Brooklyn where there will be a Scripture Service at 7 P.M. A memorial fund has been established.

He is survived by his parents, Don and Norma VanErsvelde of Deep River; three sisters, Diane Formanek (Roger) of Belle Plaine, Karol Roller (Dan) of Sigourney, and Angie Kriegel (Curt) of Hartwick; his grandmother Mae Gregory of Montezuma, six nieces and a nephew, Mindy Venz, Kacie Kriegel, Haley Roller, Travis Kriegel, Emily Kriegel, Megan Formanek, and Kelli Formanek. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Sylvia VanErsvelde.

Daniel Lee VanErsvelde was born September 1, 1958 at St. Francis Hospital in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of Don and Norma Gregory VanErsvelde. He lived with his parents in Deep River and was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brooklyn.
