Dorothea Helen Wadden, age 94, died Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Marengo Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 3, 2005 St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Marengo with Fr. Joseph Roost officiating. Burial will be in the Ohio Cemetery, rural Ladora. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday, May 2, 2005 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo where there will be a Vigil Service at 6:30 P.M. A memorial fund has been established.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Keiser and husband Jim of Marengo; three grandsons, Kim and wife Joyce, Terry and Randy all of Marengo; five great grandchildren, Shelby Sample and husband Joe, Andrew Keiser, Jacob Keiser, Steven Keiser, and Nathan Tuttle; two great-great grandchildren, Jordan and Addison Sample; a brother, Charles Blair of Tempe AZ and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1975, three sisters, Eloise Heartjen, Laureen Fuller, and Mary Craig; two brothers, Alfred Blair and Milton Blair and a great-grandson, Nicholas Keiser.

Dorothea Helen Blair was born January 6, 1911 in Hartford Township, south of Ladora, the daughter of Fred and Mabel Robinson Blair. She received her education in the rural Ladora schools and graduated from Moline High School in 1929. Dorothea married Floyd “Boomer” Wadden on May 19, 1934 in Davenport, Iowa. She managed the Lunch Department at F.W.Woolworth in Rock Island for many years. In 1948, the couple moved to Marengo, where she was employed by Amana Refrigeration until retiring in 1972. Floyd died October 18, 1975.

Dorothea was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Marengo. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family.
