Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Watts, age 87, died Friday, September 9, 2005 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City following a brief illness. Funeral services: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg with Rev. George Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Monday, September 12, 2005 at the church. Memorials may be contributed to First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her three children, Barbara Zimmerman (Jerry) of Paxton, IL, Kay Frahm (Duane) of Grayslake,IL, and Larry Watts (Bev) of Williamsburg; seven grandchildren, Victor Zimmerman (Lori) of Mahomet, IL, Chris Zimmerman also of Mahomet, Jeni Pilcher (Steve) of Wadsworth, IL, Stan Frahm (Jackie) of Salem, WI, Ben Caskey (Meredith) of Iowa City, Andy Watts (Sabrina) of LaSeaur, MN, and Rose Driscoll (John) of Williamsburg; 9 great grandchildren, Luke, Ryan and Noah Zimmerman, Nick and Zach Pilcher, Denver and Logan Frahm, Olivia Caskey and Jack Driscoll. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Albert Evans, her husband, Stanley Watts on November 10, 1986, and a daughter, Sandra McElhenie.

Mary Elizabeth Nicholas was born November 24, 1917 in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Idwal and Luella Keil Nicholas. She received her education in the Williamsburg schools and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1935. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Coe College, Cedar Rapids. Betty married William Stanley Watts on January 10, 1942 in Kahoka, MO. Besides being a homemaker, she was a teacher for the Dysart High School.

Betty was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg, Tri Delta Sorority, Eastern Star, Mariners and a past president of PEO.
