| Erna Zuber Wendler , age 91 of Racine, WI, formerly of High Amana, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Racine. Graveside services: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday April 5, 2006 at the High Amana Cemetery with Elder Emilie Hoppe officiating. Funeral services were held in Racine. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include her husband Walter; a son Lowell Wendler of Madison, a daughter and son-in-law, Eloise (Charles) Wilson of Jonesboro, GA; a grandson, David (Melanie) Wilson; a granddaughter, Dawn Wilson; and a great-granddaughter, Margaret Wilson, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Erna was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Brian Wilson, three brothers, and two sisters.
Erna Zuber was born January 4, 1915 in South Amana, Iowa the daughter of Peter and Annie Schuch Zuber. She married Walter A. Wendler on March 20, 1937 in South Amana. The couple moved to the Racine area in 1964 and enjoyed wintering in the Scottsdale, AZ. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and found great joy in tending the garden at St. Andrew and volunteering for Meals on Wheels
