| Walter A. Wendler, 91, of Racine WI, formerly of High Amana, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Ridgewood Care Center in Racine, WI. Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 1015 Four Mile Rd. on Monday April 17, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Carol Baumgartner officiating. There will be a visitation before services from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. Graveside services: 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 20, 2006 High Amana Cemetery, High Amana with Elder Emilie Hoppe officiating. Memorials may be contributed to the Amana Church Society. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is in charge of local arrangements.
Surviving are one son, Lowell Wendler of Madison; daughter and son-in-law, Eloise (Charles) Wilson of Jonesboro, Georgia; a grandson, David (Melanie) Wilson of Hillsborough, NC; a granddaughter, Dawn Wilson of Statesboro, GA; a great-granddaughter, Margaret Wilson, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Erna on March 28, 2006; a grandson, Brian Wilson and two sisters, Lillie Zscherney and Helen Zuber
Walter A. Wendler was born in Amana, Iowa on March 11, 1915 to August and Louise Gernand Wendler. Walter was united in marriage to Erna Zuber Wendler on March 20, 1937 in South Amana, Iowa. They moved to the Racine area in 1964 and had enjoyed wintering in Scottsdale, Arizona. Walter was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church. He was Vice President of Marketing for Amana Refrigeration, Inc. in Amana, Iowa and later was Sales Manager for Jacobsen Manufacturing in Racine. |
