Alma M. Zuber, age 89, died Friday, August 12, 2005 at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo with Pastor Douglas Morton officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday, August 15, 2005 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

She is survived by a son, Mervin and wife Ruth of Marengo; two daughters, Shirley Slaymaker, and Joyce Burke and husband Lewis also of Marengo; three grandchildren, Roy Zuber and wife Sue of Mesa, AZ, Vicki Cobb, and husband Rich of Marengo, and Shelly Schrupp and husband Jeffrey of South Carolina; five great-grandchildren, April, Heather, Jacob, Joseph and Ellie; a sister, Ella Minks of Bellflower, CA and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earnest; two brothers, Eldon and Ervin Teggatz and a sister Edna.

Alma Margaret Teggatz was born January 25, 1916 in York Township, rural Williamsburg, the daughter of Ernest and Ahlina Buhrman Teggatz. She received her education in the Iowa County schools. She married Earnest Zuber on September 17, 1936 at St. John’s Lutheran Parsonage in Marengo. She was a homemaker. Alma enjoyed gardening, flowers, bingo, cooking and baking and corn sorting at the Pioneer Seed Corn plant. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
