Ruth L. Zuber, age 68 of Marengo, died Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo, following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Friday, November 28, 2008, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo with Rev. Douglas Morton officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

She is survived by her husband Mervin; a daughter, Vicki Cobb and husband Rich of Marengo; a son Roy and wife Sue of Mesa, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Joseph and Jacob Cobb, and April and Heather Zuber; her mother, Louise Stambaugh of Marengo; two brothers, George Stambaugh and wife Trudie of Granbury, TX and William Stambaugh and wife Faye of Northwood, IA; and many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father.

Ruth Lorraine Stambaugh was born August 10, 1940 in Marion, Iowa, the daughter of Warren and Louise Klaner Stambaugh. She graduated from Amana High School in 1958 and married Mervin Zuber on August 30, 1958 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Homestead, Iowa. Ruth was a homemaker and also worked as a waitress at the Homestead Café and at Middle America. She enjoyed cooking, reading, word searches, crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles.
